THE BELLY DANCE SWING
The Belly Dance Swing fusion song by Chellcy Reitsma is just a fun ode to her previous life and career as a professional belly dancer, choreographer and instructor. It is a unique fusion of bluesy swing and Arabic music styles. "Hezz ya wezz" in Egyptian Arabic means "shake it like a goose" similar to the American saying "Shake it, don't break it." The lyric video features film clips taken from Chellcy's original solo performances and are by multiple filmographers from around the world. In the song Chellcy sings about three different dance styles and rhythms commonly found in belly dance and dance moves that are commonly performed within those styles. Most of the clips are of Chellcy performing the respective styles and moves. The song was produced by The Animal Farm Music - Artist Management & Record Producers in London, UK and features Chellcy's singing and finger cymbal playing. Originally, written by Chellcy Reitsma with further songwriting contributions by the members of her band: Simon Cutajar and Edward Mifsud on guitars, Alan Degabriele on bass, and Adam Cutajar on drums; as well as the producers Mat and Ville Leppanen of The Animal Farm. The intro and outro is a cover of a section from the old "Snake Charmer" song by James Thornton from 1895. The vocals were recorded by Peter Borg of Railway Studios MT in Malta. The finger cymbals were recorded by Chellcy herself at home. All other recordings, production, mixing and mastering are by Mat Leppanen at The Animal Farm.
